This channel is for the love of rugby. There are plenty of channels with footage on the latest rugby games and highlights, but there are no channels with the rare footage Real Rugby has to offer. Real Rugby will mostly share videos from South Africa, including the Springboks to classic provincial games involving Northern Transvaal, Transvaal, Natal, Western Province and Orange Free State. Real rugby covers mostly the 70's to the 90's.

Jannie De Beer - Monsieur Drop
Born in Welkom, de Beer represented Northern Free State at the 1989 Craven Week tournament. He made his senior provincial debut for the Free State in 1990 as a 19-year-old.
De Beer made his début against the British & Irish Lions in 1997, being brought in for the dropped Henry Honiball whose running game had been contained by the Lions' defence in the first two of the three tests. He failed however to establish himself properly in the Springbok side.
De Beer is most famous for his world record five drop goals in a single test match, set in the 1999 Rugby World Cup in Paris against England. The Springboks won the match 44-21, knocking England out of the tournament. However, his attempts to r...

He had the perfect side step, I bought a scholar season ticket R 25 and was at Newlands that rainy winter’s day he scored after Naas kicked it in the corner against the All Black rebel tour. Fond memories of the “King of wings” and that WP team also. I think he played for Maties,WP,Tvl, EP, Wigan, Barbas and bokke. That try at Twickenham for the Southern hemisphere combination must be a highlight for him

Naas was the DROP MASTER, but Jannie was pretty damn good! Awesome 1991 Midas CUP - U20 final, curtain raiser to the 1991 CC final at Loftus. Free State beat WP and had a monster team!

I think a tribute you absolutely can't miss is Michael Hooper's. Probably one of the best forwards of the last decade. With tackles, tries, carries and runs he produced with the waratahs and the wallabies you've got like an hour worth of material at least
